Power cuts are an unfortunate by-product of rural life during winter months. When the power goes down, not only do you lose heating and hot water, but now, revisions to the Gas Regulations in 2001 mean that the ventilation interlock system in kitchens will automatically shut the gas supply off completely. For businesses running catering equipment on natural gas or LPG, the result is a complete cessation of power rendering the business unable to provide services such as hot meals.
For LPG customers, Calor is suggesting that a simple solution and one which is more cost-effective than petrol, would be the installation of an LPG generator, which would allow a business to continue operating until normal electricity services are resumed.
An established fuel with cleaner emissions, Calor LPG is a cost-effective, environmentally friendlier option to other sources of fuel and can be up to fifty per cent cheaper than a petrol generator. Suitable for all types of catering and hospitality businesses, LPG generators are quieter and there is no noticeable reduction in performance.
