Is there any additional risk from a gas powered small engine ?

No, gas if handled correctly is as safe as petrol.

Do I have to start it on petrol and then switch it to gas ?

No, the engine will start on gas without the need for petrol.

How long will a small engine run on a cylinder of gas ?

Typically on a 19kg cylinder of gas the engine will run for approximately 24 hours. This is dependant on engine size and the size of gas cylinder used.

Where do I get cylinders of gas ?

Gas cylinders can be obtained from any number of Calor outlets. For a list of all Calor outlets click here.

Will maintenance times for consumables like plugs and filters change ?

No, the engines should still be serviced as per the manufacturers recommendations.

Can I use a gas powered generator inside ?

All generators, either petrol or gas can only be used in a well ventilated areas.

How do I attach the cylinder ?

Attaching the cylinder is very easy. There are instructions supplied in the conversion kit fitting instructions.

Will I get the same kind of performance from a gas powered generator ?

Yes, performance is not affected, assuming that the engine is in good condition and has been serviced regularly.

Can I fit the conversion kit myself ?

Any competent person can install the conversion kit. There is a full set of fitting instructions with every kit.
