Until 2001, the care home operated its heating on oil. However, after a number of structural extensions it became clear that an alternative, cleaner-burning fuel was needed that had an impressive environmental and safety record but was just as efficient.
Sister Isabel Canton, local superior and manager at Footherley Hall, made the all-important decision to switch fuels and has been very happy with the service provided by Calor and the transition from oil to LPG. She says: "Initiating the change was a difficult decision to make because it is very rare that we change suppliers. However, after recognising the environmental and convenience advantages of LPG I am now very glad that we made that change.
"We were also becoming increasingly concerned over the storage of large amounts of oil and the risks associated with potential leakage. We wanted a fuel that didn’t pose any possible hazards to the environment, or to our facilities and residents." LPG is an established fuel with an impressive environmental and safety record, and offers greater flexibility in powering heating equipment in commercial premises.
LPG eliminates the environmental risks associated with fuel spillage and provides cleaner, convenient power for a range of heating equipment, with clear advantages over fuel oil and electricity.
